The First Triad

Seraphim

The First Triad are the Seraphim's. The seraphim are the highest order of angels – 10 foot tall and bullet proof doesn’t even begin to describe these magnificent beings! It is said that whoever lays eyes on a Seraph, would instantly be incinerated due to the immense brightness of the Seraph. They are in the direct presence of God. In Isaiah chapter 6, the description reveals that seraphim have six wings, a face, feet, hands, can fly and speak, and are stationed at God’s throne.

A few of the Seraphim are -

Metatron - According to one school of thought, Enoch - Enoch was a scribe and prophet who allegedly lived from 3284-3017 B. C. -was taken by God and transformed into Metatron. Metatron is said to be the Angel of Children and Messengers. Metatron oversees unity, education and truth and children's issues. He also helps to assist you in owning your own power. Gabriel - Archangel Gabriel is Messenger of God and one of the angels mentioned by name in the Bible. According to legend, it is Gabriel who will blow the horn announcing the second coming of Christ. Gabriel is said to be the angel that brings man the gift of hope. Patron Angel of all who work in the field of comunications, postal workers and the clergy.

And two more that many may not know are/were of the highest order of angels –

Lucifer - The name "Lucifer" means "Light Giver" or "Light Bearer".Contrary to popular belief, Satan and Lucifer are two separate fallen angels. His banishment was because of his complete egotism and pure malice -- his sin, pride. This then indicates that Lucifer, not Satan was indeed the first angel to have sinned.

Satan - Before his fall, it's believed that he was one of the Ruling Prince's of the Celestial Orders (specifically Seraphim, Cherubim, Powers, and Archangels), chief of the Seraphim and Head of the Order of Virtues.

The Second Group of Angels in The First Triad are the Cherubim. Winged creatures who support the Throne of God, or act as guardian spirits. They appear in the Bible (the book of Ezekiel) as bearing the throne and chariot of God, and hence later conceived as a type of angels. They are also mentioned in Genesis 3:24 as guardians (or protectors) of the Garden of Eden. They were placed at the gates of the Garden to prevent humans from re-entering and thus gaining access to the Tree of Life. They are usually depicted as angels with four wings and four faces (human, lion, bull and eagle). Artists in later times made them appear as the chubby, rosy-faced, winged infants of which they are known today. They are usually clothed in blue, while the seraphim are clothed in red.

Thrones


CherubimThey are the third most powerful. Thrones are the fastest of the angels and are often depicted as wheel-like beings with many eyes. They are therefore called 'Great Wheels' and 'Many Eyed Ones'. Their leader is said to be Raphael. – Raphael's name means 'God heals' or 'God has healed'
